Journey to Japan: Okonomiyaki and Yakisoba

January 21 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

$65.00

The Lunar New Year begins tomorrow so let’s bring it in with this Asian dish inspired by the Japanese culture.

Okonomiyaki is a savory Japanese pancake, filled with vegetables, and typically bound with eggs, but Chef Nico is going to show how to make a veganized version of this popular street food.  Yakisoba means fried noodle.  It is a Japanese stir-fried dish consisting of chicken and veggies. Usually soba noodles are buckwheat, but these are made in the Chinese style using wheat. This dish first came to popularity around the 1930s, thanks in part to its versatile sauce that we will be making from scratch. We will also be making our own chicken using soy curls. Combined these are a super hearty, rich and utterly delicious Japanese comfort food.  This is a great opportunity to explore different cuisines and how easy it is to convert their flavors and textures to vegan.

**This is a hands-on class.  Each person will have their own station to learn alongside with Chef Nico.  You can eat or take your creation afterwards.  An electronic recipe & instruction card is emailed to you within 72-hours after the conclusion of the class.**
