LIVE ONLINE CLASS CHARITY EVENT For Soi Dog Foundation: Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles)
April 30, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Welcome to our new LIVE online classes to help you from anywhere in the world in exploring your vegan culinary journey AND TO HELP A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION. This class will benefit Soi Dog Foundation (SDF). SDF was founded in 2003 and is located in Phuket, Thailand. Its mission is “to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to create a society without homeless animals, and to ultimately end animal cruelty”. As of 2022, they have rescued 16,169 dogs from the dog meat trade and sterilized 884,429 dogs and cats. Last year alone, they medically treated 17,639 injured and ill animals and adopted out 528 dogs and cats. They have been instrumental in enacting legislation to improve animal welfare in Thailand and have fought to bring about change using their platform in other countries as well.
Get ready to meet our extraordinary professional Chef Instructor in the comfort of your own kitchen, IN REAL TIME. Classes will be hosted through the Zoom platform. Just like our in-person classes, these virtual cooking experiences are all about interaction and engagement while learning some vegan cooking skills! What to Expect from our Online Cooking Classes: We teach people to cook VEGAN and our instructors aren’t simply VEGAN chefs, they are experienced teachers as well. Our goal is for each person who takes our classes either in person or online, that they can walk away with a bit more knowledge and confidence in understanding how amazing VEGAN food can be when you just take a little extra time to step away from processed and create something yourself.
Let’s take a culinary journey to Thailand and learn to make a traditional Thai dish, Pad Kee Mao or otherwise known as Drunken Noodles. These thick, chewy rice noodles are cooked in a spicy and savory sauce with garlic, onions, chili, tofu, and lots of fresh basil! This is a famous dish in Thailand, and you’d usually find them in simple road-side restaurants for take-out. This dish is delicious, vegan, and packed full of flavor! So, take some time to cook with us and help send money to the animals in need at SDF!
